ICEBREAKER WIND CLEARS SIGNIFICANT HURDLE
At the Ohio Power Siting Board Meeting on September 17, 2020, Mary Mertz, Director of Ohio Department of Natural Resources, moved to eliminate the controversial "poison pill" shutdown condition. The motion was passed unanimously by the Board, overturning the draft decision circulated to the Board prior to the meeting.

The U.S. Department of Energy is funding $28 million in wind energy projects, with the largest part of that - up to $10 million - going to LEEDCo and the University of Maine. LEEDCo will use its portion of the money to deploy innovative sensing technologies for tracking bird activity near wind turbines.
